FEATURE DOCUMENTARY / 55 MINS / U.S.A / 2022

“Stay Here Awhile” explores the relationships three Southerners have with the land they call home. Latria Graham, a South Carolina writer, is forced by circumstances to sell her family farmland after her father’s death; she grapples with the loss of what the land meant and what happens after its gone. Bobby Fulcher, a Tennessean park ranger and musicologist, shows us the beauty of the Appalachian mountains and the ancient tunes kept alive by the families that have inhabited these mountains for centuries. John Rusky, a Mississippi river guide and canoe builder, takes us through the waters of North America’s most iconic river on a journey to commemorate the life of his old paddling brother.
